The Ignatian Retreat is a 275 day inward journey with God as created by St. Ignatius of Loyola in the 16th century. Originally intended as a spiritual experience for monastic monks, it is now designed for everyday, ordinary people who want closer connection with their Creator, a more open & honest prayer life, and a deeper heart-knowing of Christ's love with us in all things including our flaws, wounds, limitations, needs and all.

WHO CAN BENEFIT?

Those making the retreat are craving an honest prayer life. Their prayer life may have hit a wall and they long for God to come closer. They may also be struggling with a loud inner critic and are in search of a deeper sense of their belovedness. They know "Jesus loves them" in their heads, but want a real and true heart-knowing that only comes from getting real with God and face to face with Love itself.  Over the course of this 9 month retreat, most people come away with:

  • a deeper heart-knowing of God's love; reducing the urge to "work for" or "earn" it

  • kinship with Christ; knowing Jesus as one who sees, knows & embraces the full human experience.

  • and a clearer sense of life's meaning or purpose; being led by Love to live fully and as you were created to be.

WHAT'S IT LIKE?

This at home 9 month retreat starts with daily creative spiritual exercises like: imaginative prayer, reflective journaling, optional art-making prompts and sensory immersion in the scriptures. These daily rhythms are an opportunity to step into the gospel stories with your imagination to follow Jesus through his life and experience the closeness of God; Love with you.

In addition, the retreat also includes weekly spiritual direction sessions online! A full, spacious hour each week with a trained ear; together traveling even deeper into the heart of God and explore how and where this love is showing up in your everyday life. These sessions meet via Zoom and are scheduled at a consistent time, based on your availability.

Retreats are gently guided by Eliza Jane, a certified and Ignatian trained Spiritual Director. It's offered once a year starting in September and space is very limited. Book your spot by June 15th and receive a Summer of Spiritual Direction included!

FAQs

01

Who's the retreat for?

I welcome all, but this retreat as well as my spiritual tradition is rooted in Jesus' life and teachings. I am experienced in companioning others within the wide spectrum of Christianity.

I especially love holding space for stressed & struggling Christians who long to draw close to a compassionate God who gets it and as their whole selves with flaws, needs, wounds, limitations and all.

03

Do I HAVE to make art on my retreat? What if I'm not that creative?

The art prompts are an optional way to engage with the prayer practices on your retreat. This approach to art-making requires no talent as the joy is in the process- not the product.

Instead of making perfected masterpieces, your art journal is a place to fully express yourself to God while letting go of perfection; cultivating an attitude of openness, surprise, patience and humility.

02

What's the time commitment?

The retreat is designed to fit into everyday life. During the retreat, you can plan to spend 30-60 minutes per day in the daily prayer practices. In addition, you can plan to spend 1 hour in spiritual direction each week.

Of course, life happens on a "retreat in everyday life." There will surely be stress-filled days with no room for solitude. Still, Christ's invitation is to come and follow. I will be with you to every step of the way- even if life gets messy, complicated or hard.

04

What's the retreat cost?

The Ignatian Retreat is offered in 12 monthly payments of $275 per month. This includes weekly private sessions and daily prayer practices throughout your retreat.

A Diversity Rate of $225 is also available to those who are either: living outside of the US or living in the margins including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, people with disabilities, and single mothers.

If a financial barrier remains, ask me about a scholarship!

HELLO SESSION

Book a FREE 30 minute Hello Session to meet me & explore how I can help you draw close to God (without needing to prove yourself or make yourself enough).

Eliza invited me to show up as I was in that moment. I didn't need to pretend to be feeling something or to be someone I wasn't. She held space for my anger & grief in a way that I feel required so much courage on her part.
