ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm Esmé, a trauma-informed Spiritual Director, Therapeutic Art Guide & aspiring good-enoughist. I love helping trauma survivors release religious shame, create a life of Love, and draw close to God as their whole, integrated self.
After growing up in an abusive Christian home, I know first hand how trauma can affect our ability to be present within ourselves and connect with God. I take a whole-person approach; offering spiritual care through a trauma informed lens and with underpinnings in somatic (body) awareness, integrative parts work (IFS) and therapeutic art. Being a trauma survivor with cPTSD also equips me with compassion for those carrying stress, grief, anger, doubt, shame, or trauma along their spiritual journeys. Here, every part of you belongs and is approached with openness, curiosity and care.

When I'm not in sessions, I can be found working toward my Master's degree in Clinical Counseling or tending to my own inner child at my kitchen table "art studio;" walking her back to the God who created her and embracing her enoughness. I consider myself a wounded healer & a Christian Mystic; practicing the art of being human and resting in the soft heart of God.
Below are the points of view through which I see the world and hold space, plus a humble list of my certifications. If this resonates with you, let's meet in a FREE Hello session!
POINTS OF VIEW
01
Imago Dei
I view every human being as a unique expression of God's love and creativity. I welcome all in this space, wherever you are, however you come. This means I will not attempt to stretch your canvas, color on your pages or change you in any way.
I am a member of both the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. I see the world through the eyes of the marginalized & strive to hold inclusive spaces for all.
04
The Way is Through
I bless, honor and hold every part of the human experience as sacred. I will refrain from attempting to paint over difficult emotions or douse your doubts with glitter. Doing so invalidates the very real and present moment experience of grief, pain, suffering and longing.
Instead, I trust that the most sacred path toward healing & wholeness as KJ Ramsey puts it: "is through the wound." Jesus didn't bypass being human; why should we?
02
Compassionate Companion
My image of Christ is a justice warrior who heals the brokenhearted and declares freedom to the captives (Isaiah 61:1-7). I believe this includes even that which is held captive within ourselves; the parts of us we've deemed unloveable or not good enough.
I offer spiritual companionship & facilitate art-making through this lens of compassion and aim to embody Christ's example of Love With Us in the world. In this space, every part of you & your story belongs and you are not alone in it. This the simple gospel that I live by and where I believe all healing begins.
05
Bless This Mess
Art isn't about creating perfected beauty. It's about who we are & what happened to us. It's about how we breathe, what we think, & how we feel. In this way, art becomes a sacred conversation of the heart. Our deepest prayer.
This approach to art-making requires no talent or special skill; there are no numbers to paint here, no mistakes to be fixed. Instead, I offer creative ways for you to practice the art of being human; letting go of perfection, getting real with God, and leaning into your enoughness.
