ABOUT DRAWING CLOSE

Practice the art of being human.

Release perfection. Drawing Close is a sacred, healing space for tired people-pleasers and aspiring good-enoughists carrying religious shame, church hurt, and spiritual trauma. I offer online spiritual direction, therapeutic art sessions, and Ignatian Retreats!

As a late-diagnosed autistic person with PTSD, I know how religious shame and trauma can cause us to people-please, mask, and create a wall; affecting our ability to draw close to God as our true, authentic self.

Because of this, I created Drawing Close as a non-judgmental space for religious deconstruction, self-discovery, and soul searching. Here you'll simply find space to reconnect with God and practice the art of being human- with openness, curiosity, and compassion.

CALM STRESS

Art-making is proven to calm stress and increase a sense of wellbeing & clarity.

EXPRESS EMOTIONS

Bottled up emotions are stored in the body. Engaging with different art mediums like paint, clay, and collage can help express them.

GO BEYOND WORDS

When words are not enough, our stories can be told through shape, color, line & texture.

HEALING SHAME & PERFECTION

Art can be a safe place to practice letting go of perfection, making mistakes, trying new things, and trusting the process.

FIND CONNECTION

Processing the art is a time of honest conversation with your Creator.

UNLOCK JOY

Find freedom to be your true self through creative exploration & curious self-discovery.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Spiritual direction sessions hold nonjudgmental space to explore your thoughts, emotions, beliefs & experiences- with the intention of drawing close to God and connecting with your most authentic self. Oftentimes, this includes overcoming religious shame, hurt, or trauma, deconstructing fear-based beliefs, and reintegrating your "unloveable" parts.

Sessions are trauma informed, LGBTQ+ and ND affirming.
